There are many dynamics to Networking. A “tone” is created that takes on a life of its own when people enter a room and mingle.  Some people know each other, and of course others do not.  Some people are outgoing, and some more contained. At our L.I. Chapter Meetings, there is a focus to create an  atmosphere that encourages each person to open up at their own pace, share personal and business objectives, as well as specific frustrations relating to technology, careers, etc..

Of course there is some structure at our L.I. Chapter Meetings. A major focus is background information and value that Webgrrls International offers members to support them leverage technology, build one’s career and be successful. Free flowing conversation follows; respectfully listening to each other and offering feedback.  Just be yourself!  It works!

Wednesday evening we had a great mix - including people in the Healthcare Field: A Dr. of Chiropractic Medicine with a focus on wellness, launching her practice in Huntington, L.I., and a Dental Hygienist going for an MBA.  Also in attendance were people representing the IT field, marketing, sales, holistic skincare, and business video streaming.  In addition we celebrated a member\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s new position – certainly a “Webgrrl to Watch”!

Some topics, each deserving of a re-cap were: technology, launching a business, websites that work, working from home and making an adult income, repetitive job postings and more.

Bob Simmons, President of C..T.A. and L.I. Sponsor offered his take on the job market climate and tips for telephone interviews as part of the hiring process.
