Networking, Mentoring and More............
01/30/2008
by Karen Gordon

The L.I. Chapter/Webgrrls International started year 2008 off right at our January meeting.

We welcomed new faces from a spectrum of titles and industries, with careers in real estate, engineering, the art world, sign fabrication & design and IT Network Solutions.

With this diverse group all roads led back to the vital importance of networking, networking & networking.......establishing networking contacts and keeping in touch with them.  Everyone shared events they had attended and what they were looking for now - from new business to searching for the right web designer to design and launch a website.

I was pleased to observe that people showed sincere interest in hearing what each one of us brings to the table.

In addition we discussed SEO (search engine optimization) Marketing, Second Life (we all have a First One), Conferences, Chamber of Commerces and Mentoring.  Having the experience of being mentored by a professional in the field of one's choice, and then reaching a point of being one for someone else is an exciting venture.

Our January L.I. Chapter meeting flew by and there we all were exchanging cards! Networking......... truly an arform!

Join us at our next meeting, Wednesday, 2/27/08 in the Career Transition Associates Conference Room (Sponsor: Bob SImmons, President)  Plainview, NY for our Meeting and Speaker: Larry Goldinger, IT Professional and former Corporate Data Center Manager. Larry is currently a Certified Assistive Technologist.  He will be talking about Managerial Styles in the IT World & Beyond.

We look forward to welcoming you all!  RSVP Now!
