by Karen Gordon Our September Meeting brought new people to our networking evening, in our Sponsor's Conference Room. Bob Simmons, Founder & Principal of Career Transition Associates & The Job Guide Club, generously offers our L.I.. Chapter a comfortable meeting place with very comfortable chairs! And I must say we have great refreshments.
Our group was split between IT members and those with more of a sales and marketing background, with computer program knowledge.
Some of the topics we talked about were: data encription, xml, dot net framework and programming. Some of us shared situations we are encountering in our career searches and directions and exploring titles and job descriptions. It certainly was a lively meeting with many questions, answers. and evaluations.
The constant theme is the need to keep current in our education, exchanging information and offering support. This extends to the weeks between meetings, with emails back and forth. Webgrrls international offers a unique platform for us all to connect, no matter what level or discipline we are involved with.
We have exciting workshops planned for October and November, 2007.
