If smiles and laughter and goodwill and great conversation were the gauge, then the NYC Webgrrls Holiday Celebration was a resounding success with over 130 merrymakers mixing, mingling and connecting over great food, great drinks and fantastic raffle prizes.

Revelry, celebration and a challenge were the theme of the evening as the NYC Webgrrls and the community gathered in celebration of the Holidays.
Kevin Kennedy CEO of Webgrrls International started the evening with a toast to the crowd "here is to more success in 2010 for everyone" and said, "building and leveraging your network of contacts will be the key to that success".
Kevin continued, "Speaking of interesting people to know and she is a great contact to have", he introduced the hostess of the evening, Nelly Yusupova, Webgrrls CTO and NYC Webgrrls Chapter Leader.
With microphone in hand, Nelly quickly noted that, "2010 will mark fifteen years that Webgrrls International and our CEO Kevin Kennedy have been at the forefront of womens movement online Congratulations!"
Nelly then welcomed everyone and gave thanks to our host, Frank of Gaetanas and a great big thank you to all of our sponsors including: Demand Studios, Wasp Barcode Technologies, PeoplePond, iStockphoto, Verizon, 99Designs, Svitla Systems, and product sponsors Mimoco and Wacom.
She introduced our videographer Stefanie Dworkin, who produces web videos for small businesses and then she introduced and thanked myself, Amelie Walker, and Kristin Vincent, the NYC Steering Committee members, for our support throughout the year and the three of us lit the fuse of enthusiasm for the crowd with the first of many raffle drawings of the evening.
Nelly first offered a toast to "success in 2010" and then issued her challenge "do you see how many interesting people we have here in this room tonight? You should make it your goal and I challenge you to meet and get to know at least 5 new people tonight."
"Thank you for producing a holiday party that was not only festive and fun, but also a useful networking event. I had a great time and met great people with whom I hope to be working."
MANY TOASTS AND MANY WINNERS - EVERYONE IS A WINNER at WEBGRRLS
Verizon representative Kim Curtin, after a few words, picked the first two winners of Mimoco flash drives to start the evening off on the winning foot And the winners are - Kira Citron and Jeri Quinn.
With a toast from Wasp Barcode Technologies, "Wishing you optimized operations and a prosperous 2010" - Jonathan Ankney of Small Business CFO drew the next few winners including Sarah Haley, Mohannad Aama, David Burk.
"How many writers in the room?" Nelly asked then received a roaring response..."well Demand Studios is looking for you and offers this toast", "Happy writing, editing and filmmaking in 2010".
There were raffle drawings throughout the evening and Nelly, Kristin, and I worked in tandem to give out the rest of the prizes for the evening and the winners were:
