NYC Webgrrls Networking Meeting
Event date: September 16 2009
Posted by: Amelie Walker-Yung

The room was filled with a lot of interesting women on Wednesday evening! After a summer of great workshops, Webgrrls NYC got back to its core basics of networking with our September event. Webgrrls is all about making connections, and that's the number one focus of Webgrrls networking meetings. There were many newcomers in the group, along with a few familiar faces, all there to take advantage of the fabulous contact-making opportunity Webgrrls networking offers.

Everyone had a chance to introduce herself and tell of something that she (or he) needs and also that she could offer to others. Chapter Leader Nelly also reminded us that all meeting attendees also have the opportunity to send their intros and need/gives to the NYC Webgrrls disctrubution list. With 3,000 people, this list is a perfect way to reach even more people than at the event itself.

What did Webgrrls need or have to offer at the meeting? Some needed a new job or clients, others had leads or needed a position filled. There were offers like help with Russian, website review, resume assistance, and even free facials. Someone needed help with marketing, and in a great example of how Webgrrls helps make connections, there was someone with online marketing experience in the room!

Speaking of needs, Webgrrls is looking for blog contributers! If you are interested in writing for Webgrrls and are looking for a great marketing opportunity, please contact Nelly.

Thanks to AXA Advisors for hosting the meeting! Shirley Rossman of AXA welcomed Webgrrls and offered a free consultation to anyone wanting to discuss the financial services AXA can provide.

After the introductions, everyone got a chance to connect and exchange business cards. We hope everyone came away with contacts and inspiration to move them forward toward their goals in business and life.
