“The Webgrrls Networking event went way beyond my expectations. I went in thinking I might make a good contact and left having made several GREAT contacts.” Scott Carson of Noble Desktop shared his views of last week’s NYC Webgrrls networking meeting,

That was the vibe…people not only making contacts but making GREAT contacts…and there were a great many women (and men), filling every available chair in the room, eager to share what they do and learn about what the others were there for…all knowing how important it is to connect and build your network of contacts…especially in this economy.

Dale Anderson, graphic designer, said, “By asking questions among peers sharing similar goals or job experiences as myself, I realized I better get my ass in gear real soon.”

Graphic designer, writers, multi-media experts, entrepreneurs, tech gurus, PR professionals and even massage therapists were representative of the occupations and interests at this event. It was a balance of freelancers looking for clients, companies looking to hire, people looking for fulltime jobs, recruiter looking for top talent, and life coaches ready to help people identify the next great step in their lives.

“I always have a great experience attending the Webgrrls Networking Meetings. I love the focused way it is run as well as the very friendly nature of all those involved. After the meetings I usually find myself with a bunch of new leads as well as many new colleagues.”

New Workshop Poll
NYC Webgrrls is working with Noble Desktop, a exceptional computer graphics training company,  to figure out what workshops they can offer to Webgrrls.  Noble Desktop offered a give away of two workbooks and a T-shirt to attendees for participating in a survey to help us figure out what workshops they would be interested in.  We would like to offer the survey to the whole Webgrrls community as well.  Fill out the survey now.

Winners All Around
Three lucky winner walked away with a DreamWeaver and Photoshop workbooks and through the formal introductions to the informal networking and the connections that were made, there were winners all around.
