Webgrrl to Watch - Sandra B. Tate
CEO and Founder - Tateworks Life Consulting

Which Webgrrls chapter are you a member of and for how long?
I have been a member of the New York City, NY chapter for 1 years

What do you do?
I am a Whole Life Coach, speaker, author and the Founder of TateWorks Life Consulting, LLC, a Work Life Strategy and Coaching firm...building pro-business and pro-personal agendas for small business and corporations, their managers and employees in New York City and the tri-state area. TateWorks teaches skills and strategies critical to maintaining a work/life balance, fostering positive attitudes and outlooks. Proven coaching techniques show employees how to manage their stress, organize their life, set goals and improve work output effectively. As a result, teams and individuals are focused, centered and motivated, enhancing productivity, efficiency and team camaraderie.

What's your favorite milestone in your career or business?
As an IT Project Manager and Trainer for many years, I found that my interest was waning and my concerns were growing within the workplace. The people around me constantly complained about working conditions, choices and results that made them unhappy in their personal and professional lives. I sought to find solutions that created the win-win for these workers and for their management "Golden Opportunities for Positive Changes" for everyone involved. In 2003 my company, TateWorks Life Consulting, was born and after many challenges it has finally become a model for good business and positive changes.

How has Webgrrls helped you achieve your professional and personal goals?
Today is the start of many great opportunities to share and empower others by being a member of Webgrrls. I'm excited with this organization's past achievements and we are looking forward to adding to our ever-growing future.

What advice do you have for other women looking to find careers in the Internet industry?
The sky is the limit and as long as you are open to solving issues that might be new, challenging or expansive there are no stopping your value to others. Old ideas with new potential abounds and it's seizing the uniqueness of this technology that will give you the upper-hand in managing both careers and personal pursuits - go for it all!

What is your favorite tip to help women succeed?
You are in a unique place and time where nothing is impossible. Stay abreast of changes. Be open and honest about your values and strengths. There are many who are willing to assist you, including the members of Webgrrls, don't be afraid to ask. Remember there are power in numbers. Did you say 'tip?':-)
