Chapter Leader Ramona Santa Maria defended her PhD. dissertation on Januay 12, 2009. She will officially graduate on May 8, 2009.  

Past News

Roberta “Robin” Sullivanis an Instructional Designer at the University at Buffalo in the Teaching & Learning Center (TLC). Recently, Sullivan was interviewed for the campus newspaper The Reporter (March 6, 2008). Previous Member Accomplishments:
January 19th, 2008 Ramona SantaMaria presented as paper at the 4th International Conference on Technology, Knowledge and Society at Northeastern University in Boston, MA.  Her paper titled "Employment Expectation: Urban High School Students Discuss the Possible Outcomes Associated with Learning Classroom Technology" was well received.  
Buffalo Webgrrl Kalomira Kalaitzis  recently presented, and defended, her Masters Thesis. Congratulations Kalomira!

Buffalo Webgrrls is a chapter within Webgrrls International, which is a online and offline networking organization of professional business women focused on propelling their careers and businesses forward.

Call for Ideas/Speakers!
Buffalo Webgrrls chapter is looking for session ideas and speakers for the technical or art/design track for an upcoming workshop series.

We are specifically interested in finding a speakers for the following topics:

  • Starting a successful e-bay business.
  • Guided discussion of why the numbers of women in technology have been steadily decreasing over the past 20 years, and how change can be supported in the opposite direction.
  • Global Information Systems (GIS)
  • Web Censorship
  • Successful blogging stories
  • Social networking and e-dating

Please know that you can submit an idea even if you don't want to be considered as a speaker for the session. We're happy to have you propose yourself, or recommend someone else.
