Should you buy a Mac or a PC laptop?

Almost all PC laptops that you will buy today are packaged with Windows Vista. Vista has received mixed reviews from the public and I have been avoiding to upgrade until a lot of the performance issues with Vista are worked out. However, if you are in the market of buying a new laptop, you may not have an option to “wait it out”…chances are your system will come pre-packaged with Vista.

But did you know that you can get better performance with Vista by running it on a MacBook Pro? In fact, according to PC world, the fastest Windows Vista notebook they’ve tested this year is a Mac.

Try that again: The fastest Windows Vista notebook we’ve tested this year–or for that matter, ever–is a Mac. Not a Dell, not a Toshiba, not even an Alienware. The $2419 (plus the price of a copy of Windows Vista, of course) MacBook Pro’s PC WorldBench 6 Beta 2 score of 88 beats Gateway’s E-265M by a single point, but the MacBook’s score is far more impressive simply because Apple couldn’t care less whether you run Windows

Although a Mac is a little pricey, if your laptop performance is number one on your list, consider buying a MacBook Pro. Read PC World’s full test report.
