Time management tips for working women in technology

Time is a big commodity and every day every one of us tries to figure out a way to spend less time working and more time doing what we love…spend it with family & friends, take on a new hobby or finally get back to the one we’ve been neglecting.

We all try to implement our own time management techniques: managing email, managing our employees and work flow, managing interruptions, and the list can go on and on.  We are all struggling to figure out the work-life balance thing.  This is especially hard for working women, especially women in technology who can become victims of technology if they let the technology manage them.  On top of all of that work management women have to do, they also have to manage their family.  So, what is the answer?  How can we work less, make the same amount of money or more, and have time to do the things we love.

Maybe Timothy Ferriss, the author of the 4 hour work week book, has the answer.  Before he wrote the book Tim used to work all the time to keep up with the demands of all of the clients that he was dealing with across different countries.  At one point he realized that income has no lifestyle output value without time and took 4 weeks to re-organize the way he was running the business, set the process in place that would allow him to work 4 hours a week and make more money!
