Making Money in the Free Economy
Recently, I blogged about the article written by Wired Senior Editor, Chris Anderson, Why $0.00 is the Future of Business where he discusses the new business models for people who want to do business on the web…free has emerged as a full-fledged economy.
Today, I read an article that highlights two book authors that perfectly implemented Chris Anderson’s trend, by giving away books as podcasts as a way to promote sales.
Scott Sigler and Seth Harwood have spent the past few years writing novels, disseminating them over the Internet as serialized podcasts and amassing audiences so considerable that top-shelf agents and publishers are now eager to represent the authors.

Online Team Collaboration Tool
I often times work from wherever I happen to be and the Webgrrls team is spread out across the globe. We always look for team collaboration tools that allow us to conduct more productive meetings. One of the tools that I have been investigating and experimenting with is Twiddla, a free online collaboration website.
You can test the service as a guest or you can create an account. To start your meeting, create an account and invite people to “attend your meeting”.
With Twiddla, you can pull up a website, graphic, or photo and start drawing on the “whiteboard”. It allows you to draw lines, shapes, text boxes, upload media, and load URLs.
Another awesome feature is the real time “voice chat”. As long as you have a microphone on your computer, you can discuss your issues and draw on your whiteboard at the same time.
Best of all, there are no plug-ins, downloads, or firewall requirements to use the software!
Try it out and let us know what you think!

Become more productive with color coded folders
I am always looking for ways to boost my productivity. One tool that I discovered recently that helped me navigate through my Windows folders is iColorFolder. It is an open source application that allows Windows users to assign custom colors to your regular yellow folder icons. All you have to do is right click on the folder and select the color.
How does this tool help me be more productive? I color code the folders that I use most frequently so I can spot them faster.
