Do you have a thirst for knowledge and are on the road a lot? Then try out the iTunes University, also known as iTunes U, to learn while you travel.

iTunes U allows schools to open all or part of their content to the public which give you access to educational content from hundreds of top colleges, universities, and educationally focused organizations across the country for FREE.

Just like any other iTunes content, you will be able to sync iTunes U with any iPod or iPhone.

To access the iTunes U content directly click here. If this link does not work for you, you can open it manually by following the instructions below:

  1. Open iTunes on your computer
  2. Click on iTunes Store
  3. On the left hand side navigation select iTunes U
    (see image on the right)

Take courses at Universities for FREE

Did you know that many universities offer online courses that you can register for and take for FREE in the comfort of your home?

In fact, MIT offers 1700 of “open courseware” courses. You can browse their online catalog of courses by department and click on the courses that interest you. Each course has a syllabus, a calendar of important dates, reading material, lecture notes, and assignments.

There are also some courses that are offered in video and audio format.

MIT is not the only place where you can get free education. The Post Gazette wrote a story about the MIT program and lists a selection of “open courseware” offerings at other universities:
