I’m a great believer in Eric Ries’ lean start-up concepts and preach them all the time at the workshops that I teach and start-ups that I run into that are not familiar with the concept.

Abby Fichtner aka @HackerChick created an excellent presentation on what development looks like at a start-up where learning (rather than code) is the most important measure of progress.
