icolorfolder-logo.jpgI am always looking for ways to boost my productivity. One tool that I discovered recently that helped me navigate through my Windows folders is iColorFolder. It is an open source application that allows Windows users to assign custom colors to your regular yellow folder icons.  All you have to do is right click on the folder and select the color.

How does this tool help me be more productive? I color code the folders that I use most frequently so I can spot them faster.

Another terrific time management process that can save you hours if you are organizing your files by using colors. You can add another quick tip: keep all your labeling – simple. By grouping, for example, green for finances, blue health/medical, yellow for lifestyles (spa, travel, etc.) You’ll find the information in a flash versus the regular manilla one-third cut. Vibrant colors serve as an energy-booster for our filing blues.
